Oregon // Our Summer Roadtrip
Last August, we hopped in our SUV and headed down the Washington Coast towards Oregon. We've been dreaming of this road trip for years, so it wasn't difficult to plan out all the spots we wanted to visit. I pulled together this entire itinerary only 3 days before we left!
I look back on this trip with such fondness. We had the best time camping and staying at some amazing and unique AirBnB's. We hit the road almost every day, and though it was tiring, it was also spectacular and some of the most fun I've ever had!
A few highlights for me:
-We spent an afternoon hammocking at Lost Lake and we both fell asleep while overlooking the water and Mount Hood. Nothing beats a good view, a cool breeze, and a hammock.
-The night sky at Crater Lake. This was easily the most stars I've ever been able to view with my eyes. The Milky Way was clearly visible and I caught some incredible photos of it.
-Walking through waist deep water through Oneonta Gorge towards a waterfall. A short and easy hike, but a really rad experience!
-Smith Rock State Park at sunset. It felt like we were in Arizona or Utah with the gorgeous red rock cliffs all around us.
-Random exploring up the coast. We stopped at every viewpoint and beach we could find! It was so fun finding neat treasures along the way, even if it made our driving time to each location even longer.
-Hiking the Thumb in Lincoln City. This hike was a google maps find while we were looking to kill time while waiting to check in at our AirBnB. It ended up being one of the most unique hikes I've ever seen, with incredible views.
